court positioning
Being in the right place at the right time is crucial. If you and your partner are in the correct position on court the game will become a whole lot easier.
If you're in the wrong position then it will become a whole lot more difficult.

the net position

The aim of the game is to occupy the net position.
It’s from here that you can best attack. It’s from here that most points are won. If you do need to move into the defensive position, the aim is always to retake the net position as soon as possible.

the defensive position

When your opponents are in the net position you’ll most likely need to be defending.
Hold this position until a clear opportunity to retake the net position arises. And when it does, retake the net position in one decisive move – don’t ‘creep’ forward and find yourself out of position.

move together

Move together.
You should either be both in the net position or both in the defensive positon. If not you’ll be left exposed to a cross-court shot.
You should also ‘mirror’ your partner.
If they’ve been pulled wide you move across with them to cover the middle of the court.
Where you shouldn’t be...

‘No man’s land’
In this area you’re too far back to attack and too far forward to defend properly. More than likely the opponents shot will land at your feet making it very difficult to return.
