InstantCourts Revolutionises Padel with Modular Pop-Ups
In a bold move set to reshape the padel landscape, InstantCourts is offering a groundbreaking solution for court construction: modular padel courts that require no major groundwork and can be installed in just 4 to 6 hours. Branded as Instantpadel, this Swedish-designed system – developed in collaboration with Spanish manufacturer Padelcourt Deluxe – is ideal for pop-up installations, urban environments, and community spaces where traditional courts are impractical.
Since its launch in 2021, InstantCourts has completed over 170 installations across 18 countries, including high-profile locations like Battersea Power Station in London. The courts are CE-certified, robust, and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, making them a versatile option for schools, hotels, sports clubs, and even rooftops.
What sets Instantpadel apart is its minimal infrastructure demand. Traditional padel courts often require extensive groundwork, planning permissions, and weeks of construction. InstantCourts eliminates these barriers, enabling rapid deployment with fewer permits and no permanent alterations to the site. This makes it especially attractive for temporary setups, seasonal activations, and multi-use venues that need flexibility.
The company’s mission goes beyond convenience. InstantCourts aims to democratise padel by revitalising underused urban spaces and encouraging broader participation in sport. By focusing on recreational players and community engagement, the courts have become hubs for social interaction and active lifestyles. The pop-up courts at Battersea Millennium Arena, for example, saw over 6,000 unique users in just five months, reaching nearly 100% occupancy – even during off-peak hours.
Christoffer Granfelt, co-founder of InstantCourts, describes the innovation as “a game-changer” for clubs and cities looking to diversify their offerings. “We aim to make padel accessible to everyone, everywhere, while also contributing to a broader social impact by encouraging kids and families to engage in sports” he said.
With urban sports on the rise and padel’s popularity surging globally, InstantCourts is poised to lead a new wave of flexible, inclusive sporting infrastructure. Whether transforming a car park into a vibrant padel venue or bringing the sport to remote communities, Instantpadel is proving that accessibility and innovation can go hand in hand.
